Karthik Ganesh is the CEO at EmpiRx Health, a category creator and the industry’s only value-based PBM, with a clinically-focused and tech-enabled approach to bending the Rx cost curve. Karthik has built EmpiRx Health into an Inc. 5000 company and certified Great Place To Work, while transforming it into a high-growth and high-innovation engine.
Karthik is a senior healthcare executive with a solid track record of comprehensively growing, transforming, and maximizing value at tech-enabled health service companies while driving dramatic before-and-after results across all facets of the organization – growth and retention, financials, business operations, technology, and culture.
Prior to EmpiRx Health, Karthik was the founding operations leader of CareAllies, a Cigna subsidiary focused on value-based care enablement. As EVP and COO of QualCare, Karthik transformed a large provider-sponsored third-party administrator into a tech-enabled health services powerhouse, that specialized in powering and operating health plans, value-based shared savings models, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), and joint payer-provider strategies. Karthik’s background includes leadership roles at Aetna and Express Scripts, and senior management consulting roles at Deloitte and EY. He is recognized as a thought leader on healthcare, leadership, and resilience. Karthik is a published author and has been featured in leading industry journals.
Polina Kogan is the Chief Pharmacy Officer at EmpiRx Health, responsible for clinical strategy, program development and all clinical services. In her role, Polina is also responsible for the design and development of clinically innovative models to support a value-based PBM with a focus on Population Health Management and evidence-based clinical care.
Polina is an accomplished clinical executive, with a broad background and 25 years of healthcare experience that includes health plans, hospitals and retail pharmacy. Prior to EmpiRx Health, Polina led the Pharmacy unit at VNSNY CHOICE Health Plan, where she played a major role in improving their CMS STAR ratings from 2.5 to 4 STARs. She was also instrumental in building out a highly-successful PBM delegated oversight unit which led to the Health Plan passing a series of rigorous CMS Part D audits. Polina has also held leadership roles at major New York teaching hospitals. She has an outstanding track record of building and transforming clinical operations, designing and executing clinical programs ground-up, as well as designing clinical strategies that complement an organization’s overall strategic direction.
Polina holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida and a BS in Pharmacy from Long Island University. She is an active member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and has served multiple terms on AMCP Committees.
Cathy Ioannidis is the Chief Customer Officer at EmpiRx Health with responsibility for orchestrating a highly differentiated, white-glove service experience across a broad customer base that includes members, plan sponsors and benefit advisors. Cathy is a senior healthcare executive with 20+ years of experience across PBM ecosystems (integrated and carved-out) with a proven track record of building, transforming and delivering differentiated client engagement strategies. She has led teams that have serviced both integrated (carved-in) and standalone (carved-out) plan sponsors giving her a unique perspective in an industry that continues to be conflicted by the virtues of one versus the other.
At EmpiRx Health, Cathy has comprehensively enhanced every facet of what it means to deliver a data-enabled, high-touch concierge service experience across the constructs of people, process and technology. On her watch, EmpiRx Health has recorded stellar results across retention, customer satisfaction and client installation quality, while also building a culture of service innovation and high-performance.
Prior to EmpiRx Health, Cathy held client-facing leadership roles at Cigna and Express Scripts (formerly Medco Health Solutions), including the buildout of Medco’s digital suite of products. She has a Bachelors in Psychology from Muhlenberg College.
Vivek Dabke is the Chief Information Officer at EmpiRx Health, responsible for technology strategy-through-execution and digital innovation, at the industry’s only value-based PBM, with a clinically-focused and tech-enabled approach to bending the Rx cost curve.
Vivek is a senior IT leader with extensive experience in managing technology organizations and large-scale digital transformations across Fortune 500 and mid-sized organizations, while significantly improving the customer experience across external and internal stakeholders. Vivek’s background includes senior technology leadership roles at Cigna, QualCare (a Cigna Co.), and Pfizer. Vivek has also successfully built and led a boutique IT consulting firm specializing in Big Data analytics, technology delivery, digital transformation, and cloud migrations, that provided solutions and services across a broad spectrum of industries.
Lisa Mast is the Senior Vice President of Go-To-Market Operations and leads the delivery of EmpiRx Health’s market-readiness strategies including solution development, brand awareness and all growth-related operations. With a deep understanding of healthcare ecosystems, Lisa propels EmpiRx Health’s overall business success by connecting the market-facing dots from strategy through execution, in keeping with EmpiRx Health’s mission as an innovative healthcare company.
Prior to EmpiRx Health, Lisa held extensive leadership roles at CareCentrix, Conversio Health, Anthem, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Her business operations acumen across clinical product management, business development, and operational execution yielded significant and sustainable outcomes across these organizations. Lisa holds a BS from Johnson & Wales University and an MBA from the University of Delaware.
Brylee Tashman is Chief People Officer at EmpiRx Health, where she leads the company’s efforts to attract, develop, and retain the best talent, in addition to being responsible for employee engagement, compensation and benefits, and facilities. Brylee’s overarching goal is to create an environment and culture that promotes diversity, inclusion, innovation, and support.
Brylee is an accomplished HR leader, with a proven track record of recruiting top talent, streamlining HR processes, and driving the creation of an engaged workforce, with the analytics discipline to ensure any people-oriented transformation can be measured. While Brylee’s experience in HR stems from having worked with successful small- and mid-sized organizations across multiple industries, she has a broad background that includes marketing, advertising and communications. Brylee holds a Bachelor of Communications and is PHR certified.
