What is the Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Coronaviruses are a type of virus that usually cause mild to moderate upper respiratory tract illnesses, like the common cold. There are many types of coronaviruses. COVID-19 is short for “coronavirus disease 2019” and is the official name to the disease caused by this newly identified coronavirus that has spread throughout the world. COVID-19 is spread from person to person through droplet transmission while a person is sneezing, coughing, or talking.
Prevention
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol
- Avoid close contact with others (stay at least 6 feet apart from other people)
- Cloth face coverings that cover your mouth and nose should be used in public settings
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces

What to do if you feel Sick
- Call your healthcare provider if you develop symptoms or have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19
- Stay home when feeling sick, separate yourself from other people as much as possible and monitor your symptoms
- Follow care instructions from your healthcare provider and local health department
