Bill Resnick is currently the Chairman and CEO of EmpiRx Health, a revolutionary Pharmacy Benefit Management company serving the pharmacy benefit needs of employers and Taft-Hartley funds throughout the United States. Prior to forming EmpiRx Health, Bill co-founded Solid Benefit Guidance in 2005. Solid Benefit Guidance is a national pharmacy and employee benefit consulting firm serving health plans, Fortune 500 clients and Taft-Hartley Funds. Bill sold Solid Benefit Guidance in June 2015 to Arthur J. Gallagher.
Prior to founding Solid Benefit Guidance, Bill held senior positions at several local and national health plans including General Manager for Medco Health Solutions, Vice President of National Account Sales and Account Management for Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Senior Benefit Consultant for CODA/KVI.
Bill graduated from the State University of New York at Brockport in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business, with a concentration in marketing. He later went on to receive his MBA in HealthCare Administration in 1998 from Baruch/Mt. Sinai School of Medicine.
Hannan is President and Co-founder of EmpiRx Health, LLC. Mr. Allen is a benefits expert with an extensive understanding of pharmacy benefits and the pharmaceutical industry. His areas of expertise include pricing, underwriting, network and formulary design, channel management, specialty pharmacy, and clinical program development. With over 20 years of pharmacy benefits experience, he has a sophisticated understanding of the changing pharmaceutical landscape. This includes the impact of high performance plan designs, technology, and the deployment of innovative clinical management techniques designed to maximize cost savings opportunities.
Prior to building EmpiRx Health, Mr. Allen served as Vice President of Aon Hewitt’s National Pharmacy practice in New York City. There, he worked with numerous fortune 500 customers securing competitive contractual arrangements, managing pharmacy procurements, designing state of the art plan designs, and providing strategic guidance to his customers. Mr. Allen also served as a pharmacy benefit consultant with the Segal Company in New York, and as an Account Executive for Medco Health Solutions, United Healthcare Pharmacy and Schering Plough Pharmaceuticals.
Robert C. Allen
Chief Operating Officer
Bob Allen is Chief Operating Officer of EmpiRx Health, LLC. In this role, Bob is responsible for all aspects of operations including account management, customer service, claims processing, vendor management and information technology.
Bob has more than 35 years of broad management experience that includes in depth expertise in finance, human resources, information technology, operations and administrative/facilities services. Prior to coming to EmpiRx Health, Bob was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer of Affinity Health Plan, a 300,000 member managed care plan in New York. He also held senior executive positions in information technology and merger integration at Emblem Health, a NYC based health insurer with several million commercial and government programs members. He began his career and spent more than 20 years at Orange and Rockland Utilities where he held management positions in finance, operations, human resources and information technology. This included an 8-year period managing the utility’s self-insured benefits plan.
Bob holds an MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a BS in Business Administration and Economics from Dominican College.
Kristin Begley, PharmD
Chief Revenue Officer
A proven leader in the healthcare space, Kristin has over 15 years of experience in the industry with a focus on pharmaceuticals. She is the Chief Revenue Officer at EmpiRx Health, a market changing Pharmacy Care Management model rooted in payer alignment, lowest net cost and concierge service. Previously she served as the Chief Pharmacy Officer of Truveris, a health technology company that sheds light on the inner workings of the pharmaceutical supply chain. Kristin also led Hewitt’s National Pharmacy Practice, where she managed Rx benefit strategy for Fortune 500 employers. She has combined expertise in financial and clinical expertise as a pharmacist, focusing on procurement, benefit design, and pharmacogenomics. Kristin holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from Samford University.
Richard H. Bernstein, MD, FACP
Chief Medical Advisor
Dr. Bernstein is a health care consultant to various organizations around the country. Previously, he was the Chief Medical Officer of VNSNY CHOICE Health Plans, a managed care organization of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. His role included clinical quality, medical cost management and strategic innovation.
In the past, he has done medical consulting in the areas of data analytics and predictive modeling, was the New York and later a national medical director for Aetna and also a medical director of a management services organization. He served as medical director at the faculty IPA at Mount Sinai in New York City and founded the faculty/resident group practice.
Richard is a board certified internist and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He organized and runs a course at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai’s MPH program on the topic of Managed Care and Health Insurance. He has contributed peer reviewed articles and chapters and has spoken at national conferences on topics ranging from decision analysis, managed care, medical management, palliative care and adverse drug event mitigation strategies.
His current faculty titles at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai are: Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine, Preventive Medicine, and Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine.
Senior Vice President, Pricing and Analytics
Sean is SVP Pricing and Client Analytics. In this role he is responsible for client underwriting as well as reporting and analysis supporting financial performance.
Sean is an accomplished pharmacy benefit professional with over 25 years of industry experience managing clients, staff, and creating unique financial, technical, and service solutions. He is an effective public speaker, frequently quoted in newspapers and trade publications. Sean has extensive experience negotiating with senior pharmacy benefit management leaders to secure competitive client financial and service terms. Sean has a broad understanding of the unique needs and concerns of both Taft-Hartley and Corporate clients and an in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain, pharmacy benefit manager profit drivers, formulary management techniques and impact on plan sponsor drug costs and trends.
Polina Kogan, PharmD
Vice President, Clinical Services
Polina is Vice President of Clinical Services. In this role, she is leading the development, implementation and analysis of all Clinical Programs as well as building Clinical relationship with all clients. Prior to joining EmpiRx Health, Polina served as a Director of Pharmacy at VNSNY CHOICE Health Plan. During 11 years at VNSNY CHOICE, Polina built a successful Pharmacy Services department which played a major role in improving CMS Quality ratings, known as STAR measures, with improvement from 2.5 to 4 STARs in less than 2 years. She has also built very successful PBM delegation oversight program which lead to Health Plan passing of vigorous Medicare Part D CMS audit. Polina has been recognized by the Health Plan for her Leadership Skills on multiple occasions as well as nominated for Making a Difference Award by the Association of Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP). In addition, Polina has closely worked with VNSNY Research Institute and acted as an investigator in several Medication related clinical studies, some of which were published in peer-reviewed journals. Before her Managed Care Pharmacy career, Polina practiced and led Clinical Pharmacy area at major New York teaching hospitals for over 10 years.
Polina holds Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Florida and Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Long Island University. Polina is an active member of Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and serves as a member on the Professional Practice Committee. She has also been a member of Medical and Pharmacy Directors Committee and Clinical Committee at the Health Plan Association (HPA).
Vice President, Marketing & Sales Operations
Lisa is Director of Marketing, HR and Sales Operations. Lisa’s responsibilities include leading our corporate training and business development initiatives, human resource policy and development, recruiting and overall office management. Lisa has applied her advertising expertise to develop and implement marketing strategies to build brand awareness, create marketing and sales materials, plan special events and disseminate public relation pieces on behalf of EmpiRx Health. In addition, she plays an integral role in the sales process, providing RFP responses, proposal development, and sales pipeline tracking.
Lisa brings a well-balanced mix of experience to EmpiRx Health. Prior to joining the team, Lisa was a Media Supervisor at FCB Global where she developed and implemented national/local campaign strategies across all media venues for Fortune 500 clients including Colgate, Citibank, Chase, MetLife & AT&T. Lisa is also an accredited teacher, and she most recently applied her teaching and media experience to launch a successful direct marketing business.
Lisa holds a Masters of Science in Elementary Education (K-6) from Wagner College and a Bachelors in Communication Arts from the University of Wisconsin. Lisa believes that hands-on collaboration expands one’s learning curve and builds cohesive teams.
