William Resnick

Chairman & CEO

Bill Resnick is currently the Chairman and CEO of EmpiRx Health, a revolutionary Pharmacy Benefit Management company serving the pharmacy benefit needs of employers and Taft-Hartley funds throughout the United States. Prior to forming EmpiRx Health, Bill co-founded Solid Benefit Guidance in 2005. Solid Benefit Guidance is a national pharmacy and employee benefit consulting firm serving health plans, Fortune 500 clients and Taft-Hartley Funds. Bill sold Solid Benefit Guidance in June 2015 to Arthur J. Gallagher.

Prior to founding Solid Benefit Guidance, Bill held senior positions at several local and national health plans including General Manager for Medco Health Solutions, Vice President of National Account Sales and Account Management for Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Senior Benefit Consultant for CODA/KVI.

Bill graduated from the State University of New York at Brockport in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business, with a concentration in marketing. He later went on to receive his MBA in HealthCare Administration in 1998 from Baruch/Mt. Sinai School of Medicine.

Karthik Ganesh

Chief Operating Officer

Karthik Ganesh is the Chief Operating Officer at EmpiRx Heath, responsible for all business operations, technology, clinical services, finance, corporate planning and strategy execution.

Karthik is an accomplished operating executive with an impeccable career of delivering strong contributions to innovation, profitability, growth and operational excellence across a broad spectrum of healthcare organizations. He has a solid track record of scaling and transforming small- and mid-sized organizations, including start-ups and subsidiaries of large corporations. Prior to EmpiRx Health, Karthik was the founding operations leader of CareAllies, a Cigna subsidiary focused on value-based care enablement. Prior to CareAllies, Karthik was the COO/CIO of QualCare, a regional provider-sponsored health services leader that specialized in powering and operating health plans, ACOs and joint payer-provider strategies.

Karthik’s career includes leadership roles at Aetna and Express Scripts and senior-level consulting roles at Deloitte and Capgemini E&Y. He has transformed organizations, built and operated commercial and provider-sponsored health plans, operationalized Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D plans, in addition to directing complex integration efforts, aligning business-IT strategies and optimizing mission-critical operations. Karthik is recognized as a thought leader in the industry and has been featured in leading industry journals. He holds a Master of Software Engineering from Kansas State University and is a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Polina Kogan, PharmD

Chief Pharmacy Officer

Polina Kogan is the Chief Pharmacy Officer at EmpiRx Health, responsible for clinical strategy, program development and all clinical services. In her role, Polina is also responsible for the design and development of clinical models to support a differentiated PBM model focused on evidence-based clinical care.

Polina is an accomplished clinical executive, with a broad background that includes health plans, hospitals and retail pharmacy. Prior to EmpiRx Health, Polina lead the Pharmacy unit at VNSNY CHOICE Health Plan, where she played a major role in improving their CMS STAR ratings from 2.5 to 4 STARs. She also led the build-out of a highly-successful PBM delegated oversight unit which led to the Health Plan passing a series of rigorous CMS Part D audits. Polina has also held leadership roles at major New York teaching hospitals. She has an outstanding track record of building and transforming clinical operations, designing and executing clinical programs ground-up, as well as designing clinical strategies that complement an organization’s overall strategic direction.

Polina holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida and a BS in Pharmacy from Long Island University. She is an active member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and serves as a member of their Professional Practices Committee.

Brylee Tashman

Chief People Officer

Brylee Tashman is Chief People Officer at EmpiRx Health, where she leads the company’s efforts to attract, develop and retain the best talent, in addition to being responsible for employee engagement, compensation and benefits, and facilities.

Brylee is an accomplished HR leader, with a proven track record of recruiting top talent, streamlining HR processes and driving the creation of an engaged workforce, with the analytics discipline to ensure any people-oriented transformation can be measured. While Brylee’s experience in HR stems from having worked with successful startups and mid-sized organizations across multiple industries, she has a broad background that includes marketing, advertising and communications. Originally a New Zealand native, Brylee brings the unique blend of a broad background and cultural diversity to her HR role, with the singular goal of creating an environment and culture that promotes inclusion, innovation and support.

Brylee holds a Bachelor of Communications and is PHR certified.

Richard H. Bernstein, MD, FACP

Chief Medical Advisor

Dr. Bernstein is a health care consultant to various organizations around the country. Previously, he was the Chief Medical Officer of VNSNY CHOICE Health Plans, a managed care organization of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. His role included clinical quality, medical cost management and strategic innovation.

In the past, he has done medical consulting in the areas of data analytics and predictive modeling, was the New York and later a national medical director for Aetna and also a medical director of a management services organization. He served as medical director at the faculty IPA at Mount Sinai in New York City and founded the faculty/resident group practice.

Richard is a board certified internist and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He organized and runs a course at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai’s MPH program on the topic of Managed Care and Health Insurance. He has contributed peer reviewed articles and chapters and has spoken at national conferences on topics ranging from decision analysis, managed care, medical management, palliative care and adverse drug event mitigation strategies.

His current faculty titles at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai are: Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine, Preventive Medicine, and Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine.
